  1. Navigate to your Conversations page.

  2. Pick the contact to whom you want to send a message.

  3. In the text box, notice the three dots with the brackets, identifying the placeholders icon.

  4. Select the placeholders icon.

  5. Fill in the name, which defaults to first name but can be changed if desired.

  6. For demonstration, select the first name option.

  7. Click on the preview button to see what the message looks like with the placeholder filled in.

  8. Observe the output showing the first name in the message.
