Groups VS Teams
Understanding the Difference Between Groups and Teams
When managing contacts and users in ConveYour, it's important to understand the distinction between Groups and Teams, as they serve different purposes within the platform.
Teams
Teams act as mini ConveYour accounts that allow you to assign guest users to a specific subset of your contacts, ensuring they do not have access to your entire account. This is useful when you need to provide limited access to specific users without exposing all your data.
Key Features of Teams:
Acts as a separate, contained environment within ConveYour.
Allows guest users to interact with a specific set of contacts.
Ensures restricted access to only the necessary information.
Ideal for controlled collaboration and task delegation.
Groups
Groups, on the other hand, are simply saved filtered searches of your contacts. These are best used when you want an organized way to segment contacts but do not need to assign access to users based on these groups.
Key Features of Groups:
Functions as a dynamic or static list of contacts based on filtering criteria.
Does not provide separate access control.
Best for categorization, tagging, and quick access to specific contact sets.
Ideal for internal organization rather than external collaboration.
Groups Within Teams
Within a Team, you can create Groups to further filter and organize contacts. These Groups help refine access and improve organization within a specific Team. Unlike general Groups, Groups created within a Team are only visible within that Team and do not appear across all Teams.
Key Features of Groups Within Teams:
Helps further segment and organize contacts inside a Team.
Ensures visibility and access are restricted to that specific Team.
Provides an additional layer of filtering without affecting other Teams.
Choosing Between Groups and Teams
Use Teams when you need to control and assign guest access to a portion of your contacts. Use Groups when you simply want to organize contacts efficiently without any user access considerations.
By understanding and leveraging both features effectively, you can optimize your workflow and security within ConveYour.
