Introduction to Triggered Content
What is triggered content?
We call triggered content, "triggers" because they include lessons, messaging, or engagement formats that are scheduled to go out at a certain time. In other words, the content is "triggered" to go out to your audience.
What kind of triggered content can I setup?
Lessons : Lessons include a series of items (text, video, audio, documents) with the intention of engaging the learner about a topic.
Engagement Formats : Use 10+ interactive engagement formats to create lessons, courses, challenges, and comprehensive assessments.
Messaging : Setup emails and SMS messages to re-engage people in your campaign
Automate Internal Things : Automatically add & remove tags on contacts, add them to other campaigns, or completely remove them from the system!
More Advanced : Send data to other online systems, solve hairy problems ;-)
Lessons are a great way to build micro-learning experiences. Engage the learner, check for understanding, and save each lesson for use in a variety of courses. Use "Campaigns" to build your courses, by pulling in lessons and schedule them - or "trigger" them to go out. Think of campaigns like a yummy jawbreaker candy. You have items, inside of a lesson, which are built using triggers, inside of a campaign:
Engagement formats are one of the items you can use to build into your lessons.
Listen as you look at the examples of engagement formats below:
Multiple choice, one correct answer, keep trying until correct, timed.
Multiple choice, answers are subjective so no answer is more valuable than any other.
Like a poll, but each answer can have a different point value.
Sort the jumbled list to the correct order. Keep trying until you get it right.
Help people track important behaviors and goals, daily, weekly, or monthly
Prep a social post. Give points to your participants for sharing!
The good ol' fill in the blank. It's a classic! Great for concepts that multiple-choice would too easily give away the answer.
Setup a simple checklist. Give points for completion!
Sometimes you just want to get a qualitative answer from your participants.
